The things mentioned about the features that are provided by this Dell product show that it is no surprise this is quickly becoming the monitor of choice for a number of shoppers.

Excellent Resolution

This monitor is equipped with a resolution of 1920×1200, providing better clarity than the standard 1920×1080 resolution. Greater pixel capacity allows easier viewing of full-sized pictures and oversized documents without excessive scrolling.
Ergonomic Flexibility

One of the nicest features about this monitor is that users are able to adjust the height, pivot, swivel, and tilt so that a comfortable placement is achieved.

Brilliant Color and Calibration

Designers and photographers find the Dell U2412M to be a wonderful addition to their workspace. The color depth and brilliance in combination with the simple calibration process bring a level of excellence to image creation and design. Gamers also find this monitor an excellent choice for these reasons.
Affordability

Given the superior output quality of this monitor the additional cost balances out the expense. It costs just a bit more than a standard display monitor, but there is only a small gap. The price to quality ratio is one of the best that the current market offers.

Anti-glare Coating

For years, monitors have presented problems with glare issues. The Dell UltraSharp U2412M includes an anti-glare coat. This value addition makes it possible to view the screen from every conceivable angle, even when a brilliant light source is nearby.

In-Plane Switching (IPS) allows for a near seamless transition between image and color patterns. IPS is the transition and reassembly of the liquid crystals parallel to the glass panes. When tested against white and black panel displays, there was little black light leakage, and white light tested within normal parameters.

A Few Disappointments

Overall, this monitor offers users a wide field of usable features and enhancements which will get through most applications and tasks. However, there are features that could have been included to make this a totally visual experience.

The 4 port 2.0 USB hub is a useful addition to the system, but this has been a standard feature of the Ultra Sharp Series for some time. Additional ports would be a welcomed addition. Furthermore, the Dell U2412M does not have HDMI compatibility to take the visual experience to the next level.

Card readers are a value added benefit for photographers and other users who would transfer media from one device to another. This series has failed to include a card bay, whereas previous versions in the series included a 9-card reader. The missing feature was to reduce production and resale costs, but this could be a deterrent for some seeking a high-production output from the device.
